The former Westlife member is not permitted to take the Australian singer down the aisle by future father-in-law unless he quits his smoking habit.
Wedding bells apparently won't ring soon for singing couple Brian McFadden and
Delta Goodrem.
McFadden, the former member of Irish boy band
Westlife, is said to have been barred from tying the knot with his fiancee by future father-in-law until he kicks out his smoking habit.
"He gave me 'the dad speech' and said I could wed Delta but there was one condition - 'You can't marry her unless you stop smoking'", the "Real to Me" singer revealed. "I said I would but not for a while. I'll have to push back the wedding until I do it."
McFadden announced his engagement to Goodrem last November after dating the songstress for three years. The hunk reportedly prefers holding their wedding ceremony in Bali to his native Ireland or near Goodrem's home in Australia.
UPDATE 01/04/2008: A representative for Goodrem has slammed down tidbit that McFadden's smoking habit has been the one that causes the marriage getting pushed back. The person explains that the postpone is more because of the pair's busy careers, saying "It's due to the fact their careers are occupying most of their time in 2008."
