Making a good start in the new year, actress Anne Hathaway has been chosen as the newest ambassador for famous international brand Lancome, following the footsteps of fellow Hollywood celebrities like Kate Winslet, Uma Thurman, and Clive Owen.
The movie beauty will assume the role beginning this fall by fronting a new advertising campaign for the French cosmetics giant's as-yet unrevealed new fragrance, slated to be launched globally September this year.
"Anne Hathaway is a radiant young woman who perfectly embodies modern femininity," Lancome International president Odile Roujol stated in an announcement. "We know she will portray all the passion and excitement of our new fragrance.."
Hathaway has long been speculated to be recruited when fashion industry publications reported last October that she had engaged in preliminary discussions with L'Oreal, the owner of Lancome brand. Her confirmed appointment arguably is part of the brand's bid to appeal to a wider and younger market following Chanel fragrance's recruitment of Keira Knightley.
