Legal team representing the pop singer from Trope and Trope have filed papers asking for their withdrawal as lawyers for her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Once again
Britney Spears has to face bitter fact that her lawyers rather take option of running away from her.
Report from TMZ.com informed that the legal team from U.S. family law firm Trope and Trope have filed papers on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 withdrawing as the singer's lawyers for her custody battle of her two sons with ex-husband
Kevin Federline.
"There has been a breakdown in communications between (Spears) and Trope and Trope making further representation of her interests impossible," a representative for the firm explained.
Despite the withdrawal, Trope and Trope's Sorrel Trope, however, is confirmed to still remain with the "Toxic" hit-maker for the time being. The man told People.com, "A lawyer cannot simply withdraw from a case. We will ask the court to relieve us, which will be heard (in court) within a month's time."
Sorrel Trope was Spears' third lawyer in her ongoing custody battle with Federline and has worked for her since September 2007 in replacement to Freid & Goldsman. The first one, Laura Wasser, was noted to resign from her case earlier that month, shortly after Spears' divorce from Federline was finalized.
In other news, Spears was also reported to ditch her deposition for the fifth time, which was scheduled for January 2, 2008. It is highly speculated that her choice to skip it was one of the big factors in her lawyers' decision to file papers asking for their withdrawal from the case.
