Sad news is coming from Australian pop singer Natalie Imbruglia. The "Torn" hit-maker and husband Daniel Johns of Silverchair have shockingly revealed that they are ending their marriage after four years.
The 32-year-old beauty blamed the pressure of work for the breakdown of their knot, and also the fact that they have spent the majority of their time apart. For the past few years, she was noticed to live mostly in Europe while Johns has been touring around their native Australia as well as the United States.
"We want to make it clear that our parting is amicable and we remain friends. This mutual decision has not been taken lightly or quickly," the twosome said in a joint statement. "However, our career demands and our lives in different parts of the world have brought us to the point where unfortunately this difficult decision was necessary for both of us."
Further, the pair added, "We have simply grown apart through not being able to spend enough time together. We have issued this statement to set the record straight and to eliminate any need for speculation."
Imbruglia and Johns first met in 1999 and eventually exchanged marriage vows to each other in a beach-side ceremony held in Queensland on New Year's Eve in 2003. Following the shattering decision, the two have pointed out that they would not be making any future statements about their divorce.
