The pop diva pointed out she would "rather be on stage with a pig" than with the Latin singer.
Openly expressed her dislike on Latin beauty
Jennifer Lopez, pop diva
Mariah Carey went over the top by delivering rather unpleasant words in response to rumors saying she is set to duet with the pregnant star.
While the "Hero" singer claimed to Inside Hollywood that she's not ready to share the stage with anybody, let alone Lopez, she said: "I'd rather be on stage with a pig - a duet with Jennifer Lopez and me just ain't going to happen."
Carey has been noted to first cross swords with Lopez in 2001 when the "If You Had My Love" hit-maker sampled two songs from Carey's movie "Glitter" in two versions of her own hit single "I'm Real" for her second studio album "J.Lo."
"Mariah was so paranoid about the music getting out that we had another singer sing the temporary versions before the film was released," an insider on the "Glitter" set said at the time. "When Jennifer Lopez's album 'J.Lo' came out, and had the exact same song on it, we knew she had a right to be paranoid. We couldn't believe her audacity."
UPDATE 01/09/2008: Carey, however, has slammed the reports, stating to PEOPLE that the story is "a complete untruth" while insisting the quote did not, and would not, come from her. "This is just some Internet gossip and it's pathetic that people actually entertain the thought that this could be real," she said. "This is another sad example of two strong women being pit against each other."
