The last festive season probably was an unpleasant period for the real Slim Shady aka Eminem to undergo.
TMZ.com has learned the rapper had to spend his time during the holidays at a hospital due to a serious heart condition and severe pneumonia. According to sources telling the site, the "8 Mile" star even got his weight ballooned to over 200 pounds.
The Kansas City native, however, is now recovering well at his Michigan home, as said by his publicist, Dennis Dennehy, Tuesday, January 8, 2008.
"Over the holidays, Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, was under doctor's care at a Detroit-area hospital for complications due to pneumonia. He has since been released and is doing well recovering at home," Dennehy stated.
Eminem, real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III, was noted to talk to Complex magazine in 2006 about his lax position on fitness since 2005, citing it as the main cause for his weight gain.
"I went through a little slacking phase, but I just got back into my regimen last week," he said at the time. "So, I eat some nachos, and drink a Mountain Dew, and then I go hit the gym 'cause I just know I (EXPLETIVE DELETED) up."
