The beauty is the latest "Idol" contestant to be dropped from a major label after Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks.

Katharine McPhee, runner-up of the program's fifth season, has parted ways with RCA Records, the music label she had been attached to since her triumph on "Idol."
A label source has confirmed to the site of the beauty's departure from RCA after words regarding the matter first surfaced on Entertainment Weekly. The "Over It" singer only had one album released under the company namely her eponymous debut album which opened at number two on The Billboard 200 following its launch on January 30, 2007.
McPhee, a native of Los Angeles, California, finished behind Hicks on the result show for the fifth "American Idol" season finale held on May 24, 2006. Apart from singing, she has ventured into film industry as well, taking roles in "I Know What Boys Like", "The Last Caller", and "Success."
