Bringing big shock toward the crowd attending the 25th annual Adult Video News (AVN) Awards in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 12, 2008, Jenna Jameson surprisingly made announcement that she is quitting the adult film industry for good.
"Honesty is key. I will never ever ever spread my legs again in this industry. Ever!" the veteran X-rated star stated.
The statement was delivered when she came to the stage to present a prize for Crossover Star of the Year, which has been renamed in her honor. Jameson herself is a multiple winner of AVN Awards, first won the event's trophy in 1996.
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jameson started entering erotic film industry in revenge for her boyfriend who cheated her, making her debut in a 1993 non-explicit softcore flick by Andrew Blake. She, however, also found relative success in crossing over into mainstream celebrity through appearances in 1997's "Private Parts" and the 2003 NBC series "Mister Sterling", among others.
