Hilary Duff Said to Do Lip-Sync During Concert, Reps Strongly Denied

Words have spread that Hilary Duff was caught lip-synching during her 2008 Dignity tour in Monterrey, Mexico when a video footage spots the singer bending into the microphone yet her voice couldn't be heard.
Such reports, however, has been strongly blasted by the 20-year-old's camp who stated that the microphone used was faulty and that she could clearly be heard singing by fans at the front of the stage.
"She was not lip-synching," her reps claimed to People.com. "It was faulty equipment. There was no sound coming out, but she was singing."
Insisting that Duff always does her own singing in her concerts, the publicist said that the "So Yesterday" hit-maker was relying on local sound equipment rather than her regular gear on the Saturday show (Jan. 12). The mike, as the person described, was inadvertently set to mute for the first few seconds, after which the problem was solved and her voice carried the day.
Duff is reported to still have few more stops in Mexico this week before moving on to Brazil and Australia. Check out a clip from her much-talked Monterrey show below:
