A new man has come into Naomi Campbell's life and he turns out to be Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a local newspaper has revealed.
The supermodel recently went to Caracas to interview Chavez for British magazine GQ and, according to reporters there, got smitten with the man and vice versa. There are words that the pair have been courting for two months.
Respected El Universal journalist Nelson Bocaranda even stated that Chavez fell "head-over-heels" in love with Campbell after the interview, during which he flirted and invited her to "touch my muscles." Meanwhile, the British stunner has been quoted in El Universal describing Chavez as "not a gorilla, he is more a bull."
Campbell was previously engaged to Adam Clayton of U2 in the 1990s and noted to count actor Robert De Niro as one of her exes. Chavez, on the other hand, has four children from two failed marriages.
UPDATE 01/16/2008: Campbell's representatives have blasted off reports she is dating Chavez, insisting a serious professional assignment has been spun into lies by the Venezuelan media.
"The interview was a serious portrait for a respected and heavyweight magazine not a lightweight celebrity encounter," a statement reads. "The conversation was substantial and the issues discussed were primarily about Mr. Chavez's vision for Venezuela. To suggest that it was anything other than a professional situation is disingenuous and belittles all parties concerned."
