The "High School Musical" star underwent an emergency appendectomy Tuesday (Jan. 15) and now is "recuperating."
Suffering from a case of appendicitis, young heartthrob
Zac Efron was rushed to hospital to undergo an emergency appendectomy on Tuesday, January 15, 2008.
E! Online confirmed that the "High School Musical" star had the surgery at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and now is recovering from the process.
"He had his appendix removed and is recuperating," a representative for Efron stated.
Efron was announced on Monday, January 14, by Walt Disney Studios to reprise his role as Troy Bolton in "
High School Musical 3: Senior Year", the theatrical sequel of the Disney's TV-movie hits, due to start production this spring. Other original cast members such as
Vanessa Hudgens,
Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, and
Corbin Bleu will also be returning for the project.
