More and more artist are heading to rocky path for being ditched by their labels, and the latest one appears to be veteran singer Annie Lennox.
The former Eurythmics member is reported to have been dropped by Sony BMG, under which she had been signed since the early stage of her music career.
Lennox was said to be immensely shocked at the way she got treated by the studio which once hailed her "one of the finest musical voices of the age", branding the move a "kick in the teeth."
"It feels like I'm spent, as if I've completely run out of energy. I'm now out of contract with Sony BMG," she said. "I'm going to take my time over the coming months to figure out what to do with this freedom."
The 53-year-old further revealed that Sony didn't even pick up phone calls or emails from her just weeks before her contract was due to expire. Though the reason of her dismissal is still unclear, she, however, stays thinking positively, saying "Probably a good thing I'm no longer with them."
