The 21-year-old star has to report to a morgue for two days as part of her sentence for misdemeanor drunken driving.
Set to head to the place where people usually avoid,
Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to take a short class at a morgue as part of the sentence for her misdemeanor drunken driving case, her lawyer Blair Berk told reporters on Friday, January 18, 2007.
The "
Mean Girls" star has to report to a morgue for two four-hour days to show DUI offenders the real-life consequences of drinking and driving. In the meantime, she also must spend two days working in a hospital accident and emergency department.
"She's gonna see bodies. We'll have anywhere from 20 to 25 people in the class and she's treated like any other individual," L.A. County Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.
The morgue visits, according to Winter, will include "a walk-through of the service floor where autopsies are taking place along with the processing of the deceased."
"They also wind up seeing deceased people in our crypt," he added.
Lohan, 21, was arrested twice last year on DUI charges and pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges. She then entered rehab center for two months and performed some community service, including work for the American Red Cross, as well as served 84 minutes in Lynwood's Century Regional Detention Facility in her effort to fulfill the terms of her plea bargain.
