Hours after her crack-smoking video got investigated by Scotland Yard, Amy Winehouse finally fixes her mind to once again undergo rehab treatment like she had before last summer.
The Times of London has revealed that the "Rehab" hit-maker turned up at the privately run Capio Nightingale Hospital Thursday (Jan. 24), accompanied by father Mitch Winehouse and a bodyguard accompanying. The London's mental health clinic is famously known to be the place treating celebrities with addiction problems, including supermodel Kate Moss.
Winehouse's record company Universal Music Group has confirmed that the British singer has made her entry into the clinic as part of her ongoing battle against drug addiction.
"Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors," the label said in a statement. "She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy Awards."
The company added, ""Amy is the most talented and important musical artist of her generation and has made huge strides on her road to recovery. Universal Music Group wants nothing more than to see her take the time she needs to come back to full health and fulfill her incredible potential with the label."
As Winehouse got admitted to the clinic, she won't make an appearance at this year's NRJ Awards in Cannes, France, scheduled to be held this Saturday, January 26, 2008. The 24-year-old received nominations in both International Revelation of the Year and International Album of the Year for "Back to Black."
