Turns out there was a strong link between Heath Ledger and Mary-Kate Olsen, and it appeared to be more than just a mere friendship.
A source has revealed to People.com that the twosome actually were "casually dating for three months" prior to Ledger's death on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. Though did hook up, the source, however, said neither of them "were particularly interested in making it exclusive."
"They had a bond that was based on partying, and they had the same tastes in partying... like, in terms of where they liked to hang out in New York, what time they would want to go out," the person added. "They just had the same sensibility."
Ledger and Olsen reportedly first met over the summer of 2006, during which the former was living at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. The two then were caught together having lunch at the Chateau alongside a group of friends with Ledger being described as getting charmed by Olsen, who made him laugh as he would scarf down a big meal.
"Mary-Kate made him laugh a lot," an eyewitness recalled.
Olsen, 21, has been known to be the first person called by masseuse Diana Wolozin on Ledger's death day when she and a housekeeper failed to revive the actor after they found him unconscious on his bed. This was why the police initially mistook her for being the owner of the apartment where Ledger had been staying until his death, an error which was later corrected.
