Lil Wayne Finally Faces Drugs and Weapons Charges

In the follow-up to his Wednesday (Jan. 23) arrest at California-Arizona border checkpoint, Lil Wayne finally is charged with felony drugs and weapons offenses from the Yuma County Attorney's Office on Friday, January 25, 2008.

The Hip-hop MC, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., is facing charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, dangerous drugs, and drug paraphernalia as well as misconduct involving weapons.

A bail restriction on the 25-year-old, however, has been lifted by a judge, which allows him to leave the state. Though so, he is scheduled to return for a preliminary hearing on February 12, 2008.
