Garth Brooks to Take Permanent Retirement from Music
Intends to walk away from the spotlight for good, has spoken out his mind to take permanent retirement from music industry. The country star was previously noted to announce his retirement in 2001, but recently agreed to go back into the stage to raise money for charity.

The 45-year-old singer will perform for five televised gigs in raising fund for the victims of last year's California wildfires, commenting he is happy to assist the charity. All proceeds will go to the Southern California 2008 Fire Intervention Relief Effort (F.I.R.E.).

Though so, Brooks, however, insists that the shows, which sold out in under an hour, will become his last public performances.

He said, "I'm from Oklahoma. I know a lot about grass fires. I know a lot about wind and fire. I've never, ever seen wind and fire like I saw on the television. (But afterwards) we're getting ready to now drop off the face of the earth musically. Charity-wise, it never stops."
