A pretty awful incident hit rocker Peter Gabriel as he broke his left leg while skiing in Switzerland. The former Genesis member, however, has returned home from hospital and is currently recovering at his Wiltshire residence.
"We went away for a family holiday and I was skiing... I was with a group of friends who tend to go at some speed... so I thought I'd get my skis out," he spoke on his official website. "I hit a rock and I could feel a loud snap as I broke my leg, and then I skied down to the piste, which was a bit stupid."
The 57-year-old, who started year 2008 in hospital, further admitted he is "frustrated" by his lack of movement, adding it has been thirty-five years since he got his other leg broken when diving from a stage in Aylesbury, England. Though so, he has refused to lie down, "learning to hobble" around his home instead.
Despite the injury, Gabriel apparently still has a reason to smile as he on Monday (Jan. 28) was named Personality of The Year by music industry market MIDEM for his music and human rights work.
