On early Thursday (31.01.08), the former pop star has been rushed to hospital once again on a 5150 emergency hold with the escorts of numerous police officers in cars, on motorcycles and in helicopter
Following the suggestion of the troubled pop singer's psychiatrist, Dr. Deborah Nadel,
Britney Spears is once again hospitalized. Escorted by more than a dozen police officers in cars, on motorcycles and in helicopters, the mother-of-two was taken from her home by ambulance to be brought to UCLA Medical Center early Thursday (31.01.08).
Approximately two hours after being spotted at the Beverly Hills Hotel with boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, Spears and her manager Sam Lutfi reportedly got into an argument in one of the bathrooms in her home. Following that at 10:37 P.M., an LAPD helicopter was seen hovering over the house. Minutes later, an ambulance arrived on the scene. Then, at about 1:14 A.M., the convoy of emergency vehicles, led by the ambulance, left the singer's home and exited through a side entrance of the gated Beverly Hills community known as the Summit.
In arriving at the hospital, Spears' mother, Lynne, was spotted in the passenger seat of an SUV driven by Lynne's friend Jackie with Ghalib sat in the rear seat. Meanwhile, Spears' father Jamie arrived separately, as did Lutfi and Alli Sims. At 1:58 A.M., the singer was admitted on a 5150 hold which means she will be held in the psych ward for up to 72 hours.
To E! News, a source claimed that the pop star's admittance to hospital was made after her manager Sam Lutfi alerted Nadel about the fact that Spears hadn't slept since Saturday. The psychiatrist immediately called the California's 5150 emergency hold to get her in care. Lutfi later told People that "Gimme More" singer went to the hospital on her own will stating, "She went willingly. It was like something in her heart was telling her she should go. She knew something was wrong."
Further, the manager explained that Spears will be held in the hospital for the three-day mental evaluation on the orders of Nadel. TMZ reported that Nadel feared that Spears can be endangering herself due to her reckless driving and recent behavior deterioration. Sources close to the former teen pop phenomenon said that the friends and family of Spears believe that Spears is suffering from bipolar disorder, which is characterized by abrupt mood swings.
It was reported that this time, her hospital stay had been planned in advance unlike her earlier dramatic hospitalization on January 3 in which she was rushed to hospital following her locking herself in a bathroom in hysterics and refusing to hand back her two sons to
Kevin Federline's representatives.
