Michelle Williams Finally Talked About Heath Ledger's DeathAfter days mourning in silence, the former 'Dawson Creek' star has opened up for the first time to the media concerning the tragic death of her former fiance, . On Friday (01.02.08), the 27-year-old Academy Award-nominated actress has issued statement on the matter.

On her statement, Williams pleaded to fans and journalists to honor the privacy matter and admitted that she is heartbroken by the situation. The statement read, "Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father."

On the brief statement released by the mother of two-year-old Matilda Rose though her spokesperson, she also noted that the memory of the "" star will continue to live on through the spirit of their only daughter. The statement continued, "All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him."

When Ledger passed away on January 22, Williams and Matilda were in Trollhattan, Sweden, where she had been shooting scenes for the upcoming film "". Upon hearing the tragic news, the actress flew to New York. Earlier, it was reported that the production of her latest movie "" which supposedly set to begin on February 25, has been postponed indefinitely to give her time to mourn.
