L.A. Coroner Ruled Pimp C's Death as AccidentalOn Monday (04.02.08), Captain Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County coroner's office ruled out that the death of was purely accidental. The coroner official noted that his passing away was caused by combination of cough syrup and other factors.

According to reports, Winter revealed the autopsy found that a pre-existing condition of sleep apnea combined with an elevated amounts of prescription codeine in the rapper's blood had caused him stop breathing. The assistant chief of the coroner's office said, "We found a large amount of prescription cough medicine in the bedroom." Further, the autopsy also showed that there was no indication of trauma or drug paraphernalia.

The 33-year-old member of the rap duo UGK was found death in his bed at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles on December 4. Earlier, it was incorrectly reported that the cause of the Grammy Award-nominated rapper's sudden death was an overdose.

In fall 2007, Pimp C and his partner Bun B's seventh album "Underground Kingz" earned the highest achievement as it debuted in the number one position on the album pop chart. Following that, in October 2007, the duo won the Best Collaboration Award with for "International Players Anthem" at BET Hip Hop Awards.
