More than a month after he was found dead in in his Los Angeles home, the confirmation of Brad Renfro's cause of death has been announced. On Friday (08.02.08), the L.A. County Coroner's office released statement noting that the former child star in "The Client" died because of "acute heroine/morphine intoxication".
Stating that the drugs had been injected by the actor, the coroner's office ruled out suspicion of foul play by reporting that the death was an accident stating "The final manner of death has been ruled an accident." The announcement of the cause of death was made following the coming out of Renfro's toxicology screening results on Friday afternoon.
Renfro was found dead in his apartment on January 15 by his roommates. It was said that he has been drinking with friends the night before his passing away. On January 21 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the actor was laid to rest. Through out the years, Renfro had appeared in various movies, including "Apt Pupil", "Ghost World" and "Sleepers". His final act was in the upcoming film "The Informers", in which he starred with Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Kim Basinger and Billy Bob Thornton.
