When Marcheline Bertrand passed away on February 1 because of cancer, Angelina Jolie didn't only lose her mother but she also lost her most memorable prize, the 1999 Academy Award kudo for Best Supporting Actress in "Girl, Interupted". According to OK Magazine, the awards-winning actress has lost her one and only golden man statue after she took it from her mother's home.
Reportedly, after receiving the kudo, Jolie presented the Academy Award to her mother and her mother had since store the award in the Beverly Hills, California hotel where she lived. Hence, following the passing away of Bertrand, Jolie went to the hotel to retrieve the statue, but it has since gone missing.
Still, despite losing the considerably most prestigious statue for actors, the longterm partner of A-list actor Brad Pitt is reported to be at peace with the situation. To the magazine, a source said, "Angie doesn't care about awards. Sure, it's a great honour to win an Oscar, but Angie thinks herself as more of a humanitarian and mother than an actor."
