Trying to get back in the business, the rehab starlet Lindsay Lohan took a bold move by posing nude for New York Magazine. On the February 25, 2008 issue of the fashion magazine, the "Freaky Friday" star put off her clothes to recreate Marilyn Monroe's most famous photo shoots "The Last Sitting".
Lohan did the photoshoots at the exact same hotel where Monroe's pictures were taken at the Hotel Bel-Air, California with the original photographer Bert Stern on February 5. For the special photo session, the 21-year-old actress wore a blond wig and nothing else. In the cover, she was pictured standing with a see-through pink scarf covering her figure, whereas in two other photos posted online, she can be seen baring her breast.
On being naked for the shoots, Lohan revealed in the essay accompanying the pictures that the decision came easy for her. "I didn't have to put much thought into it," said the star of "Mean Girls" "I mean, Bert Stern? Doing a Marilyn shoot? When is that ever going to come up? It's really an honor." Her decision on doing the shoots is lauded by Stern who told Associated Press, "I thought she was a natural, not at all squeamish." Further, the photographer commented he believes the session would do good for the young actress since it gave her chance to portray herself as an adult.
Back in 1962 six weeks before her overdose death, pictures of sleepy-eyed and naked Monroe was taken by Stern. In the pictures, the blond bombshell can be seen posing nude with some scarves and jewelry and also sipping champagne. The racy images was featured in Vogue magazine. In the meantime, Lohan's version of "The Last Sitting" can be seen in NYMag.com.
