Words on the street said that Janet Jackson is attempting to get her "married" status again for the third time. The singer and younger sister of Michael Jackson reportedly took some time off her busy schedule to look at bridal gowns, allegedly one of the preparations to marry long-time boyfriend Jermaine Dupri.
Janet allegedly has received the marriage proposal from Dupri. PageSix reported that Janet hit up at several designers including Badgley Mischka to ask for several bridal gown samples. "She's preparing for her private nuptials," one source was quoted as saying. Other sources also said that they have even drawn a pre-nuptial agreement.
Janet and her producer boyfriend have been in relationship since 2001. She previously married singer James DeBarge and dancer Rene Elizondo in 1984 and 1991 respectively. On going for another marriage, Janet has before expressed her reluctance, saying, "After two divorces, I thought I was jinxed. Maybe marriage isn't for me. Maybe it's my fault it never works," adding that divorces are "awful" and that she is "tired of being hurt all the time".
Janet was also not keen on the idea of having children. "I just have to hurry up. I get so much pressure from people I don't even know and I think, 'My God, am I missing my moment?' Even my mother mentioned something to me the other day. But now you can have your eggs frozen and there are all sorts of things you can do. I've still got time so I think I'm okay. I've got to get a little more kid out of me first before I move on and be childish with my child."
