U.S. and U.K.'s Talk Hosts Fought for Amy Winehouse's Exclusive Interview

As Amy Winehouse's life became more interesting by her winning the Grammies, three talk show legends in U.S. and U.K. were said to be involved in a bidding war to get an exclusive interview with her.

Having a spiraling life because of drugs but still managed to take home an amazing five Grammy Awards, Amy Winehouse created bidding war between three television chat shows in U.S. and U.K. According to ShowbizSpy, the 24-year-old "Back to Black" hitmaker has being fought over by two U.S. chat shows legends, Larry King and Oprah Winfrey, and a U.K. television great anchorman Sir Trevor McDonald.

The three celebrated television talk show hosts were said to be doing what ever they can to nail an exclusive, no-holds-barred interview with the troubled British singer. A source said that King, the star of CNN's "Larry King Live" even sent a begging memo to Winehouse's Stateside and UK management stating that he would wait until she is ready to come out. The note allegedly read, "I would love to have Amy on - as soon as she is well and ready."

It was said that King is the leading contender to get the exclusive interview at the moment. A source claimed, "Larry King is leading the race to secure an interview with Amy on his show. He's confident he can see off Oprah in the race to get her signature." But, further reports stated that the first black U.K. news anchor McDonald has already made cautious questions as to whether Winehouse would consider doing it. To Daily Mirror newspaper, a source said, "Trevor knows the US market may have a slight edge money-wise, but he feels strongly that he can get her. There are so many unanswered questions from Amy about her drug use and time in rehab - not to mention her Grammy comeback. It will be compulsive viewing."
