Despite nailing $10 million recording contract from 'The X Factor' and having a hit debut album, the 'Bleeding Love' singer is said to still unable to buy her own house.
Though has become the third winner of "The X Factor" and became Britain's biggest-selling debut artist,
Leona Lewis still cannot buy herself a house. According to Sunday Mirror, the 22-year-old singer hasn't enjoyed any of her financial benefits, in fact she only has enough to live on.
To the British tabloid, Lewis' father, Jo Lewis, dismissed reports that the "Bleeding Love" hitmaker has become a millionaire since the release of "Spirit" stating that Lewis has yet to receive any of her "X Factor" winning contract and that she is still renting a tiny one-bedroom flat with her boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa in Stamford Hill, London. Jo said, "It's a myth Leona is some millionaire, rolling in money. Even if she wants to, Leona can't afford to buy a house yet. She earns enough to live on. She did get a multi-million pound contract but that is used by the record company for producing the album and promoting it. She isn't as well off as everyone thinks."
From her success of winning "X Factor", Lewis supposedly earned herself a $10 million recording contract with Sony BMG. Following that, her debut album which was released in November 2007 has become became the fastest selling debut album ever in the U.K. and also has been sold about 2.5 million copies worldwide. Lewis was said flew to Johannesburg, South Africa sometime this week to film a video for her Sports Relief charity single, Footprints In The Sand.
