The details of Heath Ledger's will were unearthed when documents were filed at Manhattan Surrogate's Court on Friday, February 7 and surprisingly it doesn't include ex-fiance Michelle Williams and their daughter Matilda. It was reasoned later on that the actor who died in January this year did not update the will since he wrote it in 2003, just before he met Williams on the set of "Brokeback Mountain".
Heath left his entire estate to his parents, sister Kate and half sisters Ashleigh and Olivia. Responding quickly to the media speculations that Ledger is abandoning his ex-lover and daughter, the actor's dad, Kim, said "Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family. They will be taken care of and that's how Heath would want it to be."
Meanwhile, Ledger's rep supported Kim's statement, insisting the reports on Heath's will "is getting taken out of context and media is speculating that this means Matilda and Michelle will not be taken care of. I want to make it very clear nothing could be farther from the truth."
Ledger's asset, according to the three-page documents, stated that he had less than $145,000 properties in New York, including a $25,000 Toyota Prius and $20,000 in furniture and fixtures. The large part, including a trust fund and properties, of his fortune is being handled through his native Australia.
