Charlize Theron has been kind enough to donate her silk gown for charity. It was the ivory couture dress she wore to attend her first Cannes festival in 2000. The dress, designed by Narciso Rodriguez especially for the "Aeon Flux" actress, is now up for auction on .

Theron has been known for her philanthropic works. Her African project with Winfrey has provided mobile clinic that now serves more than 3,000 high school students with health education, treatments and computer training. "To see kids be able to talk that way with each other, with an adult, with a counsellor, that never happened when I grew up in this country," said the South-African born actress. "It's hard because part of me feels incredibly blessed in my life and then you come here and you see people struggling, and then you see this beautiful thing which is the spirit of these people and how resilient they are and that's the miracle."
