Charlize Theron's Crystal-Adorned Gown Up for Charity Auction

Charlize Theron's Crystal-Adorned Gown Up for Charity Auction has been kind enough to donate her silk gown for charity. It was the ivory couture dress she wore to attend her first Cannes festival in 2000. The dress, designed by Narciso Rodriguez especially for the "" actress, is now up for auction on eBay.com.

The long dress is made of silk, encrusted with Swarovski crystals. It is a size four and bid has by the news hour exceeds $1,000. The proceeds will be donated to 's Angel Network charity and The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.

Theron has been known for her philanthropic works. Her African project with Winfrey has provided mobile clinic that now serves more than 3,000 high school students with health education, treatments and computer training. She recently traveled to the continent and personally handed out gift bags and helped out with AIDS test.

"To see kids be able to talk that way with each other, with an adult, with a counsellor, that never happened when I grew up in this country," said the South-African born actress. "It's hard because part of me feels incredibly blessed in my life and then you come here and you see people struggling, and then you see this beautiful thing which is the spirit of these people and how resilient they are and that's the miracle."
