Simon Cowell Likes Spying His Neighbors?Giving severe comments to American Idol contestants apparently is not the only thing Simon Cowell likes to do. Recently, the judge of "American Idol" has been reported to be having a new strange hobby. According to press release, the English artist-and-repertoire "A&R" producer allegedly likes to spy on his Beverly Hills neighbors claiming that he was inspired by Dudley Moore's classic film .

Reportedly, Simon installed a telescope in his kitchen after watching Moore's character who snoops on a nearby resident. "I saw that Dudley Moore film and it was great. Afterwards, I got a telescope installed in my kitchen so I can spy on people. I look out over the Hollywood Hills into my neighbors' gardens. It's an amazing view," he said. Imitating the film, then, the brother of a millionaire property magnate Nicholas Cowell focused his lens on the sprawling gardens of the mansions surrounding his plush pad.

The judge said that spying on his neighbors' activity is a great fun because he can know what is happening behind the close doors of his neighbors. However, Simon's telescope has limited capacity to spy the surroundings. "It isn't powerful enough to see into their homes - so you can't see them in the shower - but you can see into their gardens," he explained.

Simon is well known as a judge on such television shows as "Pop Idol", "The X Factor", "American Idol" and "Britain's Got Talent". He is also known as the owner of the television production and music publishing house Syco. In December 2003, he published a book "I Don't Mean to Be Rude, But..." which tells about his years working in music and experiences on "Pop Idol", "Pop Stars Rivals", and "American Idol".
