After her divorce was finalized in 2006, Denise Richards does not want her ex-husband name to be included in her surname. Charlie Sheen's ex-wife wants to get her original name back. Therefore, the "Whore" star reportedly went to L.A. court on Friday, March 21, 2008 to file court papers in order to change her name back.
In her court papers, Denise requested her legal name to be changed back from Sheen to Richards. The actress, who took her ex-husband's name Sheen in 2002, wants to remove the name officially from her last name. She wants her name Richards back because she was not longer married to Sheen.
The actress, who played as Carla in "Love Actually", married the actor in 2002, and first filed for separation from Sheen in March 2005. However, the former fashion model and her husband were seeking marriage counseling to mend their marriage and they briefly reconciled. On April 19, 2006, the actress once again filed the official papers asking for divorce from Sheen under the laws of the state of California. In her court papers, Denise accused that her husband's was increasingly erratic. The Sexiest Mom of 2005 based on In Touch Weekly Magazine decided to end her marriage because she feared for the safety of herself and their two daughters Sam J and Lola Rose.
Following her divorce to Sheen, Denise was often being reported in a bitter custody battle with her ex-hubby. The battle continued when the "Wild Things" star decided to include their children in a reality TV show. Her wish to include their children in the show was assumed by Sheen as an exploitative plan, but on January 25, 2008, she won the court case. So, she finally can include her daughters in the show which features her life as a single mom.
