As Kristy Lee Cook managed to get her way into "American Idol" top ten despite being in bottom three for two straight weeks, it was revealed that
Britney Spears may have be the one who play a big role there. According to E! Online, the troubled pop star used to be giving advises to the AI contestant back in 2000, when she signed Cook in her new production company.
Reports claimed that the former girlfriend of superstar musician
Justin Timberlake had signed the 24-year-old AI finalist as her first artist and even promised Cook that she would appear in Cook's first video. On Spears' interest to the Oregon-native, Cook's former manager Marty Rendleman revealed, "Britney would tell her how beautiful and talented she was. She told her that she would do whatever she needed to promote her and help launch her career." However, in 2003, Cook chose to leave the company to pursue her own projects.
On Spears related news, it was reported that her guess appearance on the television sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" has helped to boost the show's ratings.
