Bon Jovi's lead guitarist Richie Sambora apparently got into major trouble due to his drinking problems. According to reports, the 48-year-old rocker was arrested for a DUI suspicion and to make matter even worse, the latest TMZ report claimed that he could be charged with child endangerment as he was said to be driving under the influence with his daughter, Ava Elizabeth, and other minor on board.
On the arrest, Sgt. Jason Kravetz of the Laguna Beach Police Department explained that the former boyfriend of actress Denise Richards, who has gone public with his battle with alcohol, was pulled over at about 10:50 P.M. on Tuesday (25.03.08) after he was spotted to be weaving within the traffic lanes on the Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, California. When the officer approached the black Hummer Sambora's was driving, allegedly he smelled alcohol and asked the rocker to perform field sobriety tests. When he failed the test, the former husband of actress Heather Locklear was taken into custody and did the blood test, which result expected to come out in about a week.
Before he was pulled over by the authorities, Sambora was reportedly driving with three passengers on board, a woman and two minors, including his 10-year-old daughter with Locklear. Hence, if he was indeed drunk while driving at the time, the rocker could face another misdemeanor charge. According to Kravetz, the Jon Bon Jovi's band mate could be charged with endangering the welfare of a child depending on the result of his blood test. Meanwhile, Sambora has been released from the police custody at about 4:00 A.M. and is scheduled to appear at Harbor Superior Court in Newport Beach, California on May 7, 2008.
Sambora has been known for his problems with alcohol. In the past, he has been in and out of rehab to treat the addiction. In September 2007, he checked himself at Utah's Cirque Lodge center during Lindsay Lohan's rehab stint. At the time, he admitted that he needed help telling People, "I got divorced from Heather Locklear, I was going through a custody battle, I was having alcohol addiction problems, my dad was dying 'It was a gang tackle from hell, basically. And crawling out of that wreckage was a very triumphant victory'."
