Britney Spears to Become PETA's Receptionist? After she successfully portrayed a receptionist on CBS' sitcom "How I Met Your Mother", reportedly got an offer to be a real receptionist. Reportedly, the pop star was offered the job by animal rights activist group known as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Spears was chosen because her performance on the sitcom has impressed PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk.

Reportedly, the PETA President has written an open letter to Spears. In the letter, Newkirk wrote, "After seeing your excellent performance on How I Met Your Mother, PETA would like to offer you a real job as a receptionist." Newkirk also wrote that the organization really hopes the singer will accept their offer, because PETA is offering to donate $1,000 to a children's charity for her willingness to accept the offer.

Aside from offering job, the president of PETA also explained to the "Gimme More" singer about their past criticism towards her. Newkirk wrote, "We might have criticized you in the past for contributing to the dog overpopulation crisis and wearing real fur, but perhaps now that your own crisis has abated, a new day calls for a new relationship, a new outlook and a new understanding." The explanation was given because they had criticized Spears previously after Spears was spotted wearing fur and bought animals from pet stores.

Talking about Spears' success on "How I Met Your Mother", it was reported that her performance as the receptionist has pulled in 10.6 million viewers. She has also reportedly helped to boost the show's ratings. Her performance on the show even made it the 4th highest rated show on Monday night, March 24, 2008.
