The successful R 'n' B singer Mariah Carey was rumored to be dating the rapper Nick Cannon. Allegedly, the singer started the romantic relationship with him after Cannon starred in the music video for one of the tracks from the new album "E=MC²". Her affair rumors was reportedly first sparked by a friend who told National Enquirer.
According to the source, Carey is really professional in keeping her relationships secret. The source further insisted that the 38-year-old doesn't want others to know her private life. The source said, "Mariah is the master when it comes to keeping her relationships secret. Even though she's a big star, she likes to keep her private life to herself."
Earlier, TheSun.co.uk reported that Carey has made her list of demands for her man. The singer said that she wants to find a partner who understands the world of celebrity. She has revealed that she wants to date a fellow celebrity because she thinks that only a man living in the media spotlight can understand her. "That's a big deal for me - feeling like somebody else can't fully understand me because they're not in show business. It shouldn't matter, but it does, because the energy it takes to be 'on' is a lot," Carey said.
Aside from finding the one who understands her career, the pop star also confessed that she is looking for someone who cares about her emotionally. Carey further explained that someone who takes care of her will automatically understand who she is. For the next requirement, she added, "I've always had really low self-esteem, and I still do. What's weird about that is being on stage, and the love that you get, and the adoration that you feel from your real fans. It's hard for a partner to compete - just imagine."
