The supermodel known for her notorious temper Naomi Campbell got herself in trouble once again due to her bad temperament. People reported that the 31-year-old model was arrested at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 on Thursday (03.04.08) on the suspicion of assaulting a police officer. The model was held under custody as she allegedly spit at the officer after she boarded British Airways to Los Angeles, according to Sky News.
A report from The Sun claimed that during her arrest process, she struggled, kicking and screaming in handcuffs. On the arrest, a police revealed, "She was going nuts, spitting, punching and lashing out. BA staff were genuinely concerned about her well-being. They had no alternative but to call police when she refused to calm down. The police adopted a softly softly approach but she still went into a frenzy. They had no choice but to arrest her for the assault of a police officer." Further, authorities let out statement that read, "We can confirm that at 17.13pm police were called to a disturbance at Terminal 5, Heathrow. A 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer."
The incident that led to the model's arrest occurred reportedly after Campbell created a brawl as she couldn't find one of her bags. She then lashed out at airline workers and continued to show her anger at the steward who took boarding cards. Reportedly, the steward then decided to call out the police and soon after three officers from the Met�s SO18 aviation security branch arrived to take the model off the plane.
According to Campbell's press agent Celena Aponte, Campbell was enraged with the fact that the airline didn't give out any explanation to why her bag is missing. The statement released at 1 A.M. on April 4 read, "She arrived in plenty of time at Heathrow Terminal 5 with two bags, checked them in, and told they were take the flight. Once on the flight, she was told one bag could not be found and was missing. British Airways decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight, calling the police, and forcibly ejected her from the flight. So far as we are aware, BA has still failed to offer any explanation as to why her bag went missing at Terminal 5."
It was further explained that Campbell who was going to attend a memorial service of fashion photographer Herb Britts' mother in Los Angeles has been released on bail sometime on April 4 morning. It was also reported that the model are still planning to fly to the U.S. despite her arrest. The model could face a sentence up to six months behind bars if find guilty of assaulting police officer.
