Scientologist Tom Cruise Being Jennifer Lopez's Twins' Godfather

New mother Jennifer Lopez has reportedly chosen a man to become godfather to her newborn twins. It was reported that the singer wants her friend Tom Cruise to take the important role. However, she faces a problem due to Cruise's Scientology beliefs.

A source revealed that Lopez's husband Marc Anthony allegedly concerned with his wife's choice because they are Catholic. However, the singer who is also known as "J.Lo" tried to persuade her husband to give the actor a chance to be the twins' godfather. "Tom is delighted. Marc wasn't sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids' godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic. But in the end Lopez managed to convince him to agree." the source explained.

Reportedly, Cruise has already given gifts to the newborn twins, Max and Emme. The father of Suri was reported to spend $200,000 for the twins' christening outfits. It was also reported that the 45-year-old actor and his wife Katie Holmes have planned to make a star-studded party for the fraternal twins.

Lopez's twins were born in Long Island, New York on Friday, February 22, 2008. Emme was born first at 12:22 A.M. Eleven minutes later, Max followed his sister to join the happy family.
