Lily Allen Pulled Out of Orange Prize Judge
Singer has reportedly withdrawn from her role as a judge for the Orange Prize For Fiction. Allen has pulled out her involvement in judging the British book award competition citing on "ill health". However, Allen's spokesperson explained that "ill health" meant she was not able to fully commit to her role .

According to Daily Mail, there were some reasons which finally made Allen quit from the judging role. Firstly, Allen allegedly did not attend the judges' meeting which discussed about the 20-book long list. Then, she has missed a debate which was held sometime last week to decide the shortlist.

Commenting on this withdrawal, Allen's manager has told the Daily Mail that it's pity if Allen has drooped out from the judging panel. The manager explained that the singer has read extensively for the first stage of the judging process. "Lily had read extensively for the first stage of the judging process and was looking forward to the shortlist meeting but recently found that she was unable to commit to the role due to ill-health," the manager said.

Actually, Allen was one of five judges on the panel for the award for women writers. If only Allen didn't not pulled out from the literary prize, she will be the youngest judge ever to be included on the Orange panel. However, after she took the judging role, she was criticized because she doesn't have any literary background that makes her fit to judge others.
