Rumored to buy Leona Lewis a $5 million mansion, Simon Cowell has dismissed the rumors insisting that he has made no exceptions with the singer despite her worldwide popularity.
Earlier, it was rumored that music mogul
Simon Cowell has treated his pop protege
Leona Lewis with a $5 million mansion. However, ShowbizSpy.com reported that the judge of American Idol has slammed the rumors. Simon insisted that he has made no exceptions with Leona despite her worldwide popularity.
According to the gossip site, the 48-year-old has confessed to The Sun that he didn't buy Leona a Hollywood home. "No! I didn't buy her a house," Simon told the British publication. Simon further reasoned that if he really did like what has been reported, he would be broke. He said, "If I did that I'd be broke every time I had a hit".
Previously, the multi-millionaire producer was rumored to give Leona a L.A. home after the singer landed the number one spot in the Billboard chart. A source told People that Simon was so delighted with the 23-year-old singer's success in America, so he wanted to treat her. The source further said, "Leona's a homely girl and isn't at all flash so Simon got the idea to buy her something practical she would use."
Leona is the winner of the third series of British television music talent show "The X Factor", in which Simon is known as the judge and creator of the show. Reportedly, Leona became the first British female solo star in over 20 years to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her single "Bleeding Love". However, despite Leona's success, she allegedly couldn't even get a foot on the property ladder in her native East London. She was reported to make an offer of around $1m on a house in Hackney with her boyfriend, but when the vendor found out that the buyer was Leona they upped the price by $200,000, forcing the couple to pull out.
