Madonna's Adoption to David Banda Faces OppositionAgain, faces a set back regarding her adoption to David Banda. Reportedly, the "American Life" singer faces opposition from a group of civil rights lawyer in Malawi. The singer is forced back by the activists in the country who were fighting to block her adoption of two-year-old.

It was reported that the activists are determined to fight the court's decision. They are demanding a change in the law to prevent foreign adoptions. The activists fear if Madonna's adoption is approved, it will open the floodgates and encourage other Westerners to search prospective adoptive children in Malawi.

On the contrary, the Malawian government has previously approved her adoption by sending a confidential document to Malawi High Court. The government stated in the document that Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie have been found to be the suitable parents for the boy. "In the best interest of the child, I do recommend the petitioners to your Lordship for your consideration that they be granted an adoption order having proved that they are suitable parents and satisfied the conditions in the Interim Adoption Order," the report read.

The pop star and Ritchie has begun David's adoption proceedings since 2006. However, the adoption has been a controversial one because Madonna was said to be given special treatment. Aside from that, the laws in Malawi also prevent non-citizens to adopt the Malawian children.
