After having years of dispute with the animal rights group PETA, it looks like now
Beyonce Knowles can be free from them. The group have officially announced that they are giving her a break and called a ceasefire against the pop diva.
On their
official website the animal rights group revealed their reason for the ceasefire, saying "Not a single sighting of Beyonce in a fur coat all winter. So we're calling a ceasefire." Moreover, PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange has also sent Beyonce and husband
Jay-Z a luxurious faux-fur rug for present.
Along with the rug, Lisa also attached a note for the singer. "From all of us at PETA, we wish you much happiness in your life together. Please accept this faux-fur throw with many good wishes and a hope from us that together, you'll be a fur-free couple!" the note read.
Beyonce and PETA's dispute has been going on for years. They criticized her for using and wearing animal fur in her clothing line "House of Dereon". In 2007, the animal rights group won a competition to have dinner with the "Crazy In Love" singer and on that dinner, two of their members confronted Beyonce to discuss about her fur fashion. Besides that, PETA have also wrote a letter of concern to her regarding the usage of baby alligators in the photo shoot for her "B'Day" album.
