Pete Wentz Slammed the Pregnancy Rumors

Pete Wentz, the bassist for Fall Out Boy, called the rumors addressed to him and his fiancee, Ashlee Simpson as a "witch hunt". The rumors said that Pete and Ashlee are expecting a baby, but Pete himself slammed the rumors as he said that this is all news to him. According to him, they are in love, then engaged, and nothing more.

Pete wrote to MTV News on Monday, "There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover ... I mean really, this is crazy ... I mean we're engaged, that's true, and happy about it." On the other hand, a spokesperson for the pair told US magazine: "We are thrilled to confirm their engagement and congratulate this happy couple. Beyond that there is nothing to say."

Simpson, who will release her new album, "Bittersweet World", on April 22, has been linked to Wentz since the fall of 2006, when they were spotted kissing at a New York nightclub. As their love was going strong, they announced their engagement on Wednesday, April 9. Simpson's father, Joe, tells PEOPLE that he's "totally happy" and "so excited to have Pete as part of (our) family."
