Naomi Campbell's efforts to do good deeds have hit a brick wall. Naomi, who wants to donate her blood for the dengue fever epidemic patients in Brazil, has found her goodwill rejected by the medical officials of a hospital in Rio de Janeiro.
The model arrived at HemoRio medical center on Tuesday, April 15, to take part in the blood drove. Unfortunately, Naomi's generous plan was denied because her physical condition was not suitable for donating blood.
According to the medical officials, the 37-year-old had just undergone an emergency surgery to remove a small cyst from her abdomen in February 2008. But the rules on blood donation stated that people who have undergone surgery could not donate their blood until at least six months afterwards.
Commenting on the rejection, just before leaving the hospital Naomi said, "Unfortunately I can't give blood for Rio de Janeiro, but I'll surely be back." Actually, Naomi herself has already been in Brazil since Monday, April 14, 2008. Besides visiting the hospital, she has also made visits to various fire stations to check out the temporary shelters for the dengue victims which were build there.
