Amy Winehouse is having her musical career under threat. Amy reportedly has received a strong ultimatum from her record label Universal Music. The singer is being threaten that her next album won't be released if she doesn't stay away from drug.
A source close to the singer confirmed the news to the press, saying "Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities. Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album." The source also added that Amy's contract with Universal won't be terminated yet. "They would never release her from her deal; they would just not put an album out," the source said.
The reason Universal released the ultimatum was caused by Amy's refusal to obey their advice. Reports said that previously, Lucian Grainge, the label's European chief executive, has ordered the "Rehab" singer to get a treatment for her drug addiction. "She took notice when Lucian talked to her earlier this year and agreed to go to rehab. But she didn't take it seriously enough," the source said.
Before the bad news broke out, Amy was being rumored to be singing the theme song of the upcoming "James Bond" movie "
Quantum of Solace". But the rumors was denied by her representatives, saying "Amy has been in the studio working on songs for her new album with Mark Ronson. Recording for anything else is pure speculation."
