While driving home for the evening on Friday, April 18 around 9:50 P.M. in Gloucester, Massachusetts, actress Sandra Bullock and husband Jesse James involved in car collision. A gray Subaru station wagon jumped lanes on East Main Street and hit the couple's 2008 Chevy SUV front end. Luckily, no one was injured at that time.
Responding to the scene, Gloucester Police Lt. Gerry Cook revealed, "They were shaken up, needless to say. But they were fine, he was hugging her. Jess and Sandra were hugging. They said they were fine, they didn't need medical attention. There were quite a few people snapping pictures of them." Moreover, the police added, "The two walked away from the accident and were not even examined."
The driver of the station wagon was identified as Lucille P. Gatchell, 64, from Gloucester. She was given a field sobriety test by officers. Apparently, she was driving under the influence of alcohol as she blew a.20 on the Breathalyzer, two and a half times the legal limit. Thus, she was arrested and then taken to the police station.
Lucille was released on her own recognition and will be arraigned on the charges Tuesday, April 22. Furthermore, Lt. Gerry Cook said that she didn't know who she hit, until the arresting officer told her when he took her to the police station. "And then she started laughing, she was really giddy," he said.
