Pete Doherty Is Muslim

Being imprisoned at London's Wormwood Scrubs and gets a lot of Muslim friends, Pete Doherty turns into Islam.

The jailbird Pete Doherty became a Muslim and reportedly requested a Koran translation after being put in an isolated cell at London's Wormwood Scrubs last week. Moreover, the junkie is said to be "lapping it up". "He's been reading the Koran since he went into segregation," a pal revealed on Friday, April 25.

In jail, Pete got close to a lot of Muslim friends, and behaved positively. "He's got a lot of Muslim friends and they've been on at him for ages to study it. Now he's on his own he's got time on his hands to study it," the pal stated. Furthermore the pal added, "I'm surprised how much it has calmed him down as he was very on edge inside. He definitely seems more chilled. He's lapping it up and really interested in it. I think it's helping him in there."

As Pete thought of converting himself to Islam, he reportedly made some radical changes on his outrageous lifestyle and behavior. He will have to avoid eating any meet which is prepared not in the halal way in addition to drugs and alcohol should he wants to be converted to Islam seriously.

Pete has been given a two-year suspended prison sentence for the possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis. Thus, he would miss two of his scheduled performances, a solo show at the Royal Albert Hall in London which is set on April 26, and the Glastonbury festival which is held from June 27 to 29.
