As previously reported, Nick Cannon got his back tattooed with the simple word "Mariah" before he and wife Mariah Carey tied the knot on April 30. As for Mariah, she also got her back tattooed with the word "Mrs. Cannon". It was Oprah Winfrey who revealed the tattoo news when Mariah visited her shortly before their wedding.
Days after the secret wedding, Nick's tattoo has been exposed by MediaTakeOut. Mariah's tattoo, meanwhile, has not yet been exposed.
On Thursday, May 8, Mariah and Nick made their first appearance together as a newlywed couple at Time's "100 Most Influential People in the World" gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. Nick said, "It feels amazing. My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. I've been smiling for days," when he was asked by the people at the event about his wedding. Mariah then commented, "It's comforting-and something I've never felt before. Which is really being in love and happy with someone who really understands me and isn't trying to do anything but make me happy. It's wonderful."
Nick also flashed his wedding ring and carried around his Louis Vuitton bag as he left his hotel in New York City on the same day.
