Distracted, Britney Spears Involved in Minor Car Accident

Was distracted, Britney Spears involved in a car accident in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon, May 13. The singer drove her white Mercedes-Benz SL65 when she hit the back of a Ford Explorer driven by a lady and caused a minor damage.

The accident occurred when Britney was on her way leaving her Studio City home for an afternoon drive. Shortly after, she stopped at a traffic light but suddenly accelerated when the light was still red, hit the red Explorer stopped in front of her.

Commenting on the accident, an eyewitness said that the accident happened because Britney was somehow distracted. "I think she was just distracted, she just tapped the other car in front of her," the witness claimed.

Although she was practically guilty at the accident, Britney didn't even get out of her car. It was her bodyguard who got out and apparently gave a business card to the lady driver. Police were not involved.

Being suggested by the bodyguard to avoid press attention, witnesses said that the driver then followed Britney back to her gated community to exchange information.
