Considering an inner makeover, Oprah Winfrey has on her announced that she is going vegan for 21 days. She is trying to become a "conscious eater", thus saying goodbye to meat, dairy products, caffeine, sugar, gluten and alcohol.
Oprah was inspired by Kathy Freston's book entitled "Quantum Wellness", which suggests people to try a 21-day cleanse as a way to jump-start an inner makeover. Online sessions with Canadian motivational speaker Eckhart Tolle and a book entitled "A New Earth" have also influenced Oprah's principal. She wrote about a "conscious eater" on her blog, "How can you say you're trying to spiritually evolve, without even a thought about what happens to the animals whose lives are sacrificed in the name of gluttony?"
Moreover, Oprah reckoned her vegan detox as a chance to become better in life. "This 21-day cleanse gives me a chance to think about (eating) differently and see what my attachments are to certain kinds of foods and what I'm willing to do to change," she wrote. She then continued, "Don't know if I'm going to feel better or worse, but I'm willing to try to see if my body at least feels differently."
