Olsen Twins Get Offensive Birthday Greetings From PETAAs and prepare to celebrate their 22nd birthday on Friday, June 13, they will get surprise from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The radical animal rights group has launched a birthday offensive against the Olsen twins to stop them from wearing animal fur.

PETA asks its young devotees to take a small piece of their own hair and send it to Mary-Kate and Ashley right before their 22nd birthday, for their birthday gifts. The hairy birthday gifts are being sent at the request of peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights organization, which posted the mission on its official site, Peta2.com. Moreover, people who donate a snippet of their hair are also required to include a note that reads "Please, use my hair instead of the animals'. Happy birthday."

PETA's assistant director of youth campaigns Dan Shannon commented on the 'offensive' birthday gift, "Mary-Kate and Ashley are old enough now to know that fur doesn't grow on trees." He then added, "We hope that on their birthday, they will take a moment to think about the many animals who won't live to see another birthday thanks to the twins' abominable taste in clothes."

This isn't the first time PETA mocks and insults Olsen twins for wearing fur. The animal rights group has previously made a special site and advertisement to mock the twins since they ignored the group's requests to stop wearing furs. In the site named 'Meet the Trollsen Twins', the activist group nicknamed the twins "Hairy Kate and Trashley". Furthermore, the group also prepared an interactive game, "Dress Up the Trollsen", where people could dress the twins using dead and bloody animal.
